Send us Fan Mail Robert Berdella, also known as the "Kansas City Butcher," was an American serial killer active between 1984 and 1987. He lured young men to his home in Kansas City, Missouri, where he subjected them to horrific torture and eventually murdered them. Berdella was known for his meticulous documentation of his crimes, which included detailed notes and photographs. His killing spree came to an end when he was arrested in 1988. He was convicted of multiple counts of murder and other crimes and was sentenced to life in prison, where he died in 1992.
