Alex Buitron was born and raised in Guatemala. He followed his father into the field of law. In 2012, Alex was named Guatemala's ambassador to the Dominican Republic, where he moved to and lived for the next four years. During that time, this lifelong competitive athlete grew to fall in love with the leaf. He then spent some time creating his own cigar and his own cigar brand. After returning to Guatemala, he opened The Curanto Club, with a current location in Zone 4, a trendy and revitalized neighborhood in Guatemala City.
