This week’s Say Yes to Holiness podcast 1:1 Conversation is with Kelly Breaux of Red Bird Ministries. Kelly and her husband, Ryan, are the founders of Red Bird Ministries, a ministry designed to accompany people in the wake of the loss of a loved one. Our conversation revolved around their personal story which was key to the founding of Red Bird Ministries, as well as things that we can do to help accompany others struggling with loss. Red Bird Ministries systematically guides individuals and couples through the complexity and drama that happens with the loss of a loved one--be it a spouse, parent, or a child. While there are important differences and dynamics with losing a spouse, parent, or a child, the core methodology that Red Bird Ministry developed remains at the heart of their approach, specifically, a small group model along with the accompaniment of companion couples and advocates, all who can serve families on their journey to healing and restoration. In addition to the Breaux's personal story, we also spoke about the different options that Red Bird Ministries offers to assist people struggling with grief: a couples workshop; online support groups; and numerous downloadable resources and links, plus practical steps we can take to accompany others struggling with grief.
