Episode 104: 9 Traits of a Six-Figure Writer
from The Savvy Scribe
Send us Fan MailThanks to one of the members of our Savvy Nurse Writer members for asking us this question: what are the traits of a 6-figure writer vs. a beginner?I’ve decided to turn this question into a podcast so that you can’t only hear the traits but will also learn how to implement them in your own business in order to become the six-figure earner that you deserve to be.A six-figure writer is efficient in time management. They know how to prioritize and figure out their days to get the time directed efficiently. To get started with this, you can start to monitor your days. Look at each hour of your day to start doing a time assessment from what you’re doing during those times. They prioritize tasksIt is when you know what task needs your attention the SOONEST. I really like the method that Rocky Lalvani does. He was our guest in episode 97. Throughout his day, he focuses in client services, networking, and then sales. The pattern starts from doing client works first and then move to other areas to bring in more business. They are motivated and self-directedRunning a business by yourself has to be self-driven. Good habits create goal achievement. Whatever good habits you do every day can help you become motivated and self-directed to become a 6-figure writer.Six-figure writers do not think of themselves as hobbyists. They are business owners. One of the parts of growing a business is changing your mindset. You are thinking of an income-generating business, not a self-serving hobby. There is nothing wrong with having a hobby. But when you are trying to build a business, you need to think of it as a business.Six-figure writers are always evergreen learners. They are the persons who never stop learning. They are always looking for knowledge to make themselves better at what they do. They are always looking for better ways to incorporate a different strategy and not always focused on one type of writing. They’re trying to master other things. They are connecting their clients and marketing themselves. They put their services out there to the world. 6-figure writers usually have a sequence funnel where they have their potential clients go through. It could be in the form of a webinar, an eBook, etc that flows into a sequence. What I love to use for my email marketing is Flodesk because it makes my emails look so nice. They produce quality work and always receiving great testimonials. You have to deliver high-quality work if you want to receive positive testimonials and client referrals. Once you finished a project, you can email them to say thank you and request feedback regarding the work you’ve done. If they love what you’ve done, they will be happy to do that for you. They are adaptable.Six-figure writers should be adaptable to their work environment and their client project. If you have to go away for the weekend, you have to think about where you’re going to, or if there’s a wi-fi connection, or is there a suitable place for you to work if you have kids.Confidence and a positive attitude, but they still have imposter syndrome. No matter how many figures you end up making as a writer, stay humble. Never get it over your head. You are not an expert with every single thing ever. There is always someone who’d be better than you. It’s the reality and that’s okay. You’ll think that you’re not good enough and even the best of the best do and that’s okay. Just brace yourself. Have a positive attitude each and every day.Welcome to the Savvy Scribe Podcast, I'm so glad you're here!
