Episode 104: Come to Me: Christ, Rest, and the End of Striving
from The Seeds of Transformation Podcast with Dr. Allma Johnson · host Dr. Allma Johnson
Welcome to The Seeds of Transformation Podcast with Dr. Allma Johnson Episode #104: Come to Me is for the weary. Not the lazy. Not the disengaged. But the sincere believer who loves God, wants to be faithful, and yet feels exhausted in soul. We live in a culture that calls this burnout, or "quiet quitting." But Scripture speaks more clearly. It exposes not just tired bodies, but heavy yokes, misplaced striving, and lives lived apart from rest in Christ. Before we go any further, we need to be clear and faithful to God's Word. The Sabbath command, given as the seventh day, was part of the Old Covenant with Israel. It was real, it was holy, and it pointed forward to something greater. In the New Testament, that "something greater" is not a day, it is a Person. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law. He is Lord of the Sabbath. And according to Scripture, true rest is now entered daily by faith through Him, not by calendar observance, but by trusting His finished work. Today, we will open the Bible and let God speak for Himself. No trends. No psychology. No opinions. Only Scripture. Only truth. If you are tired, burdened, or quietly wondering how long you can keep going, this episode is an invitation. Jesus still says, "Come to Me…and you will find rest for your souls." Let's do this y'all.
