It was what the decision represents.Respiratory therapists bring a unique skill set to the bedside. We see things differently. We assess differently. We often recognize problems before they become emergencies.Most of the time, that expertise may never be needed.But when it is needed, it matters.That's the part that concerns me. Not the routine nights. Not the quiet shifts. The one patient who suddenly decompensates.
