Our initial response is to seek revenge for the hurt that we have suffered.The Russian Czar, Peter the Great, was fascinated with medicine. One day one of his servants asked the monarch to pull his wife’s tooth. With eagerness, he pulled her tooth despite her cries of protest. Later he learned, his servant had him do the deed out of vengeance, not because she had a toothache!In contrast to that stands Christ. He suffered abuse, threats, and harsh judgment at the hands of men. Yet, never did he return evil for evil. Christ trusted in the Father.If you suffer wrongly, trust God. He sees and will return with perfect and righteous judgment. You can always be confident that God will make wrongs right again.
