Det sorte træhus, Dillonshús, i Reykjavik står i dag klar til alle de besøgende turister og gæster. Ifølge islænderne selv, spøger det i huset. Huset har nemlig budt på kærlighed, men også endnu større ulykke. I 1800-tallet fik den engelske adelsmand, Arthur Edmund Denis Dillon, bygget huset som en gave til sin helt store kærlighed, Sígrídur Elísabet Forkelsdóttír Bergmann. 150 år senere købte en lille familie huset - i håbet om at leve der lykkeligt til deres dages ende. Lykkelig blev afslutningen dog ikke.
