Episode 107 - Insomnia and its Effects

from Counselling Conversations with Julie · host Julie Thomas

Most people have experienced sleep struggles sometime in their lives. Insomnia is a disorder characterised by difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or getting adequate restorative sleep, these can negatively affect our health and wellbeing. We often do not realise how important the health benefits of a good night's sleep are for us. Many important health-related things are being performed as we sleep such as our brain forming memories and processing the day’s events as well as pruning the information in our brain it no longer needs, making room for things it does need. Our body performs tissue growth and repair, allowing healing and restoration to occur.Thank you for joining me today.
