Episode # 109, "Unpacking the Truth About Idolatry" with guest speaker, Micah Marshall

Hello and come on into episode 109 on the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast! Again, this is your host — Jackie Brindle! On today’s episode, you will hear from Micah Marshall, which this will be his second time on the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast. I am very excited to welcome him back!  Micah has a passion to connect others across generations to the truth of the gospel. He does it in an authentic – down to earth — style that radiates joy and excitement from every conversation you have with him. He is the executive director and founder of Refuge Youth Nework in the Pitsburg area and is a wonderful speaker that will ignite something in you!  His wife, Bethany Marshall, was also on the show so should check out our past episode as well for more encouragement.  I knew the topic of this episode would be intriguing to many because we don’t usually talk about what we make idols in our lives to others. For those of you who have been following along with each episode, you know I recently took some courses for my doctorate in strategic leadership. One of the most humbling lessons I learned was how much I was actually placing as idols in my life through the scriptures of Kings. The message to reflect, repent, and ask God to search my heart to tear down things I have put in place of God was a big bold prayer.  And to help us unpack it further with more wisdom and knowledge on the topic of idolatry is Micah Marshall!!!  One of my favorite quotes you will hear from him in this is, “The silence of God does not mean the absence of God.” It is a reminder that God is always with us and that even if he feels far off, we have victory in Christ —- wherever we are.
