Episode 11 - Battlefield Earth (2000) - "We Did It All For Xenu"

Welcome to the Thunderdome, or whatever dome it is that this movie takes place under, as Aaron and Pete, joined on this episode by friend of the pod John Hummel, sat through and talked about the 2000 Sci-fi quasi-Epic, Battlefield Earth. Folks, this one was a doozy. From questionable cinematography at best, overcomplicated plot points that; even when explained, still managed to go over your head, and the small rodent that died in John Travolta’s pants; this movies got it all… but just none if it things you asked for. In all honesty though, this film is a lot of fun at times, we just can’t help but think that this film falls victim to it’s own time and ambition of trying to be an oscar worthy, “Gladiator”-esque capital “M”, capital “P” Motion Picture. But hey, you know what they say, shoot for the moon and land amongst the late night Sy-Fy reruns where your fans have been the whole time. Follow us!
