Episode 11: Historical Reenacting, A Homestead Test Run

from The Lonestead Podcast · host Liz the Goat Witch

This episode was done as per request from follower on IG (follow #foxrunfarmstead). Not exactly homestead related per say but very much an influence in who I am and how i got to be a homesteader. Initially with cosplay, then renaissance faires, culminating in doing 1860s historical reenactment events I was able to test my skills and learned my limits on the short test runs of roughing it. In some cases providing everything myself including the clothes on my back for events. Let me tell you, nothing makes one appreciate the little luxuries in life like a hot shower or soft bed after wearing 4 layers of garments while crashing in canvas tent for 3 days in backwoods of Louisiana.Pro Tip: Dont follow the sounds of banjos.
