Het Brusselse operahuis vroeg tegelijk aan vier hedendaagse componisten om elk een nieuw orkestwerk te componeren dat in dialoog zou treden met de muzikale erfenis van Beethoven en daarbij een solist van het Muntorkest in de spots kon plaatsen.
