Episode 112: Non-Musician Perspectives - Photography with Jennifer Cubides

from The Musician's Guide To Being Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise · host Karen Cubides

“This is capturing where you are in your life right now and the evolution of you as a human.” Photography can be an amazing tool to express ourselves and capture ourselves authentically. Photography is a really important element of our brand, and with photo shoots, we’re investing in ourselves and the documentation of our lives. Here are a few things to keep in mind when booking a photographer: “Hire the photographer for the way they take photos and for you liking their work. And, when you do that, let them do your work” Respect the creative! Don’t hire a photographer just because you need some photos. Be intentional with who you seek out in these collaborations and why. Each photographer usually has their own editing style, and it shouldn’t be changed for client preference. Do your homework and ask questions Find a photographer you want to work with, but also find a photographer that wants to work with you Collaborations are a two way street! Once you’ve found yourself an awesome photographer to work with, here are some things to consider in your photo shoot: Clothing shows dimensionality of you as a person Pick clothing pieces that are easily interchangeable so you can get more variety in the allotted time. Clothing shows us who you are! Pick pieces you love, and also include some neutral staples you can wear with multiple things. Your instrument is an accessory, not the focal point We want to see you, not just your instrument! Your instrument is part of who you are, but there’s so much more to you - show us! Photography is an important element to your brand, but if you can’t afford or find a photographer, that’s okay! You can always take your own with the equipment you have, and take photos of your everyday life and surroundings to show us what you’re all about.   Listener Write in: https://www.musiciansguidepodcast.com/about Patreon- Come Hang out: https://patreon.com/user?u=66581011&utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=join_link The Musician's Guide to Social Media Courses: https://www.musiciansguidepodcast.com/courses Leave us a Review on Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-musicians-guide-to-being-healthy-wealthy-and-wise/id1440699268 Karen Cubides Agency: https://karencubidesagency.com Karen's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/karen.cubides/ Jen's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jenniferjames.co/
