On today’s episode we speak with Vanessa Fuentes, Austin Councilwoman-Elect for District 2. Elected on November 3rd, Vanessa secured 56.12% of the vote in a field of four. She and Bingham Group CEO A.J. discuss her path to the council dais, and lessons learned along the way. ABOUT VANESSA Vanessa previously worked as the Senior Director of Grassroots Advocacy for the American Heart Association – SouthWest Affiliate. Prior to joining the American Heart Association, Vanessa worked as a committee director at the Texas State Capitol. Vanessa is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and has lived in Austin for 10 years. She serves her community with her involvement with the Young Women’s Alliance, State Representative for the State Board of Directors for Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, and Junior League of Austin.
