Germination - the spark of an idea. Usually this comes when you’re not thinking about art. 2. Inspiration- you start planning. Sketchbooks, start planning logistics, how can I do this? Is it possible? 3. Creation- the physical act of creation. An outpouring of energy. Action, sweat, physicality, the molding of something in the 3d reality. It’s the touch of each paintbrush stroke, the application of the gold or silver leaf, the sanding and the polishing. 4.  Rest—Your body needs rest, your mind needs rest. Just like the seasons, we have to fall back and gather our strength, refresh and rest before pouring out of ourselves in creativity again. So, how can we lean into this so that our art production flows better? Recognize our natural need for cycles and identify where you are at in the creation cycle. Set a milestone for yourself to work towards in your creation, like a show or a contest or a open studio, and start going through the cycles to lean into that goal! Allow your ideas to form fully before execution, and approach your creation season with purpose and precision. Allow yourself to rest without guilt, knowing it is a necessary part of the path!
