Welcome to the Tweed Trends Podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl! And you are tuned in to Tweed Trends.

It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Hello, hello, hello, everybody. Today's episode is all about shaming. Let's get started.

So the first story where someone was shamed, it all took place at a Burger King, where this guy walks up to the Burger King, sees a woman laying down on a piece of cardboard out in front of the building. Instead of asking her if she's okay or can he help? He starts recording on his camera, wakes the woman up, and basically shames her using profane language and everything about the fact that she's out there laying down on a piece of cardboard sleeping. Now, granted, she did have on a uniform, and I think that egged him on even more to say, you work here, why are you sleeping out here on the sidewalk?

Well, he put it on social media, it went viral. However, the manager at the store, she was pissed, because basically it's one of these things like, how about find out the whole story first before you go passing judgment on somebody? Because this woman is a schoolteacher, and she's got so much student debt that she actually works multiple jobs on top of the full-time teaching position. And if anybody knows anything about being a teacher, OMG, you've got paperwork to grade and whatnot.

So on top of all of that, she works these other jobs trying to pay down her student loan debt. And that's really a commendable thing. However, this guy, it's just ridiculous. And it's sad, though, but it seems like everybody is out for a like.

Everybody wants someone to click on their page and like everything that they're posting. So they go and they find things at other people's expense to get people to come and look at you. Ridiculous. Our second situation where shaming was involved was at a gym.

Now, this one, unbelievable. Well, no, no, no, no, no, it's not unbelievable. It's very believable. A young lady by the name of Jamila Jamila.

You may know her, you may not know her, but she's British. And she's in television, radio, acting. She's out there, she does stuff. And she was at the gym.

And a guy approached her as she was getting ready to leave. And he told her that he watches her and thinks to himself, what a shame she could look so amazing. And he told this to her, he was saying that the workout that you do, I don't think that it does you any good. You should be doing something else because you could look amazing.

Wow, who did this guy think he is? She should have slapped him. One good time, I'm sure that, yeah, I'm sure that's another right thing to do. Turn her way, walk off, whatever.

But to me, that's like calling someone who's not pregnant pregnant, like, oh, what do you do? And the crazy thing is, she's a size six, eight. So OMG, if you saw me, yikes. Yikes.

Anyway, but she took to Instagram and had a lot to say about gym culture and the type of people like that guy that are out there. And basically, they should mind their business. And that's what it all boils down to. All these people want to shame other people, I didn't do dog-on business.

Last but not least, if you've ever dropped your cell phone and broke the screen, you were probably cell phone shamed by all those people that were like, oh my gosh, I can't believe you're so using your phone like that. So those of you that use Apple products, you're going to be very happy to know that Apple is now saying that they will give you money for your smartphone, tablet, computer, watch, anything that is in good use that could be passed along to somebody else who really needs it, they'll give you a store credit for it. How about that? Well, now if you have older products like the iPod and stuff like that, they're not going to give you money for it, but what they will do is they will have it recycled responsibly, which, I mean, not only are they thinking about the planet, but they're also thinking about your pocketbook.

And I think that's pretty commendable way to go, Apple, too bad this isn't way to go, right? So if you are in the process of being cell phone shamed and you have an Apple product, my suggestion is, head on over to Twitter, find my link, not granted, it does take you to the UK site, but if you change UK to US in the link, then it'll take you right to the numbers that you want to see. Thanks for joining me for another episode of Tweet Trends. Do me a favor though, head on over to Twitter and follow me at HEVAT, that's at HEY, E-V-E, D-T-E, or just look for the hashtag, Tweet Trends.

Last but not least, before I go, I just want to let you know that today is National Coloring Day. So pull out your crayons, your markers, your colored pencils, whatever you color with, and give busy, you know, they say it like calms you and is a stress reliever. So think of what you could do for yourself. And if you don't want to do it for yourself, how about do it for somebody else?

Check out this organization, it's called Color a Smile. And what they do, they're a nonprofit organization and they distribute cheerful drawings to senior citizens, troops overseas, and anyone in need of a smile. So you can sign up to be someone to color. You can sign somebody up for a subscription to get colored pictures.

How cool is that? Check it out, color for yourself or somebody in need, and I'll see you on Monday.
