Episode 116: Quinn's Canon #5: THE FRENCH CONNECTION (1971)

"You ever picked your feet in Poughkeepsie?" This week on the podcast, Quinn joins John to discuss his next canon selection—the iconic New Hollywood classic, and Best Picture winner at the 1972 Oscars: The French Connection. It was John's first time watching this film, so we both had a lot to discuss: the excellent score, the iconic car and subway chase scene, Friedkin's 'induced documentary' style, its morally complex plot, and some recent controversy over some streaming release censorship. Before that, we touched on some brief news items and also talked what we watched this week (As a heads up, we ran into some recording issues halfway through the episode.
