Paul’s opener and benediction were both drawn from Psalm 118, rejoicing in the days the Lord has appointed for us and praising Him for being rejected for us, bearing our sin, and giving us new life and acceptance by God the Father through the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ the Son for our sins.
