Welcome to the Tweed Trends Podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl! And you are tuned in to Tweed Trends.

It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Hey guys, welcome back to Tweed Trends. Today's episode is kind of a little bit about keeping secrets. So let's get started.

The first story deals with parents in Florida kind of wanting to keep a secret. Because now the law requires schools to inquire about students' mental health. Well, we all know about what happened in Parkland, that little boy, he had issues with mental health, and nobody really knew. And because of it, people died.

So the schools are trying to do better by the students, by the parents, by everyone, by the community, and getting more information. And of course, because it's the law. Well, parents are a little offended because they're feeling like if they disclose this information to the schools, that one may get into the wrong hands, or two may be used against their children. And as a former teacher, I take offense to the fact that they want to keep that a secret.

Because if that's the case, what about the parents that have children who have IEPs, where they have some type of disability that requires that they need special attention, and they need special assistance? What if that parent didn't want to let people know? Because there are some children with autism that when you look at them, there's nothing that appears to be wrong with them. So what's to say that these parents don't want to put their kids in a regular class and not be identified, be labeled as having some type of disability?

Same thing here. So I really don't think it's fair that parents who have children that have some type of mental health issue, that they want to keep that to themselves. That's kind of like I had an aunt and uncle who their daughter was on drugs. They chose to keep that as secret.

They kept it between them to them. They didn't tell anybody else in the family. And in the meanwhile, this girl was running around getting money from family for all sorts of crazy reasons. And it wasn't until we all got together and was like, hey, did she talk to you?

Did she ask you? And then we all realized that we've been duped. And all along her parents knew but didn't want to say anything. And I think that sucks.

It makes me a little irritated to see these parents. Don't want to disclose this information. How can it be used against your child? And if it is, guess what?

Take the school district to court. So yeah, I got a little hot about that little topic there. One of the points I wanted to bring out though is that there's money for the schools for this sort of thing, for children with mental health issues. So why not let the schools do what they need to do?

Just let them know. The second secret that had been kept for quite some time was this cassette recording of a 25-year-old prince. And he had no intentions for this coming out. But it wasn't until his passing that his estate found this and was like, you know what?

Let's give this to the people. Now today is the release date and it's titled Piano and a Microphone. And that's exactly what it is. You know, you're so used to seeing Prince with his guitar or playing the drums or doing everything.

And this is just simply raw, uncut Prince. And it's amazing because this is before the symbol and all that other good stuff. This was when he was 25 years old. So, you know, I can't even speak enough on it to let you know how I felt about it.

I am in love with it. I'm very excited about this whole thing. So I'd say, you know, there are different places online where you can hear snippets or, you know, go all in and get the album. I think you're gonna like it.

If you're a Prince fan, I know you're gonna love it. And the last one, the last secret is my own personal secret. I'm in the process of remixing my show. You know, with Saturday being the start of fall, I kind of want a different fall lineup.

So I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to cut back from the five day a week podcast to one day a week podcast. It also includes a YouTube video. And I just kind of want a different little change right now. Things are going on in life and, you know, just need to kind of switch it up a little.

So I thank you all for your listenership and I pray that you will continue to hang with me once I drop it back to one day a week. And if you're not liking it, let me know. Who knows? I may not even like it and have to switch it up again.

But just thank you. I really appreciate all the claps for those of you that listen on Anchor and all of the reviews on iTunes and stuff like that. I really appreciate it. And I look forward to talking to you soon.

So my question to you is, how are you going to celebrate? What are you going to do today that is going to bring about peace? Is it going to be to meditate on peace? Maybe you and a bunch of other people get together.

At noon and every time zone, there's like a minute of silence for the same thing where everybody is thinking about peace. Everybody is focusing their brain power on peace to try to actually bring about peace. Alright? Well, you do that.

I'll be joining you at noon here Eastern Standard Time. And let's try to bring about some peace in this world. Okay guys? I'll be seeing you in a week with a new format.
