from All In Uncensored with Ryan & Bryon · host Bryon Taylor & Ryan Buys

Welcome to Episode 12:  Aaron Paker – Love, Life and Law.  In this episode we are bridging the gap with our special guest Aaron Paker Attorney at Law.  Aaron specialized in Elder Care Law and will share his philosophies on Love, Life and Law.Some of the topics we will touch on in this episode:•        Who is Aaron Paker?•        Trinity Approach to Life and Work •        Mental Health and the importance of normalizing conversations around that•        Finding Balance in business between worth and generosity•        Having a vision and doing what it takes to get thereWho is Aaron PakerAaron is a father, husband, friend, Christian, trusted advisor, attorney, and mental health awareness ambassador.Aaron met Bryon at orientation before Freshman year in college at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma (Go Loggers!).  We became fast friends with our small group of friends and have been friends ever since.Aaron has a background in education (worked with small children and disadvantaged youth and transitioned over to elder care law and reinvented himself)Now he is a partner at Life Point Law in Federal Way, WATrinity Approach to Life and Work1. Love Everyone – he grew up with mental health issues and it was only after failed attempts to take his own life did he realize that he is a people person and is deserving of love and so are others.  Love is the pillar of who Aaron Paker is. If you treat people with love and respect it creates a butterfly effect where they go home to their loved ones and continue to spread that love that they got from you and it has a ripple effect.  Be the change you want to see in others.2. Giver’s Gain – this concept came out of his BNI group whereby you give to others (referrals, help, business) and putting this good energy out into the universe rewards you with abundance.  It is like dropping a pebble in the pond and the ripple effect is amazing.3. Ubuntu – we are all part of a greater whole.  I am me, You are you and We are we.Mental HealthWhy is mental health a stigma? We were taught that mental health is something that you shouldn’t talk about. How do we normalize conversations around that?  Being transparent with others and being willing to share our truths around that.  So often we are taught to hide that part of ourselves but by doing so that alienates us from a community of people who can help us.  By communicating and sharing his mental illness with not only your family and friends but your employer that will help them be able to better help you in your time of need and provide a better understanding of who you are.  Look for the helpers!Balance in Business (Balance of Worth and Generosity)How do you remain generous in your trade but also make sure to put enough worth and value on your time to make a living?  Aaron’s boss Rajiv taught him that by discounting his worth for the value he provides he is indirectly cutting himself off from being able to help more people.  If clients who have means can afford to pay you what you are worth and you don’t discount your value, then that frees you up to be able to do pro bono work for those that don’t have the resources who also need your help.  Again it speaks to the ubuntu philosophy of We are We.Vision and going after DreamsWhile some may look at his mental illness as a disadvantage, Aaron was able to use his mental illness to his gain.  His ADHD and OCD allowed him to accelerate his learning, stay at a high performance for longer periods of time and ultimately was his secret weapon in passing the bar on his first try and graduating at the top of his class.  Final thoughtsAaron has reminded us that leading with a servant’s heart and implementing servant leadership and loving on people where they are at without judgement is a great philosophy to spread love in the world and also provide help to those that need it.  Check out the link here for Aaron’s business website https://lifepointlaw.com/aaron-paker/ You can find his book for sale on his site.Link for our Facebook page to reach out to us with any questions or help you with financing needs to join our rate watch program: https://www.facebook.com/AllInUncensoredOr you can find us on our website at https://www.allinuncensored.com/ Also, please subscribe to our show which will be available on most media platforms (Spotify, apple, YouTube, iHeart radio, google) and you can catch show clips on our Instagram and YouTube channels!
