Episode 12: Are Annuities A Good Choice? With Nick Bates

from Thinking Like a Bank · host Sarry Ibrahim

I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon annuities and wondered if they are a good fit for your portfolio. Most people have mixed views. Either good or bad. This is typically the case with a lot of financial products and solutions. They are either ‘good’ or ‘bad’ for you. Of course these are subjective terms and the whole good/bad argument really depends on what you want to accomplish. That is the key word; accomplish. Our guest today is Nick Bates. Nick joined the SET IMO (Insurance Marketing Organization) in January 2019 as the VP of Sales and Recruitment. In this role, he is responsible for sales and recruitment of all lines of insurance for the organization. This includes fixed annuity, life, and long-term care insurance. Nick has worked in the financial services industry for 15 years. He has earned his FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 66 registrations along with his life and health insurance licenses in Michigan. He is a graduate of Michigan State University. He lives in Saline, Michigan with his wife Danielle and two children Claire and Cole. In his free time, Nick enjoys anything outdoors and sports related. Nick is joining us today to share his expert knowledge on annuities and how they work.
