The A plot is jungle hiking team coming across Mikhail's station, and deciding what to do with him/which faction he's with/what codes on the computer mean. The flashbacks belong to Sayid, digging further into his past and taking a prescient move for 2007 in acknowledging wrongdoing while apologizing- a lesson current #MeToo perpetrators could follow.
