Episode 12 - Major from Straight Up Gay Podcast, Atlanta, Georgia
from A beginner's guide to a forty something gay man. · host Matt Ian Kelly
This week I am very pleased to be joined by Major - Host of The Straight Up Gay Podcast. Major is based out of Atlanta, Georgia. I've been an avid listener to his podcast for a few months now and love the style and set up of his conversations. He talks with people from across the globe about their unique experiences within the LGBTQ world. Major is not LGBTQ himself but is an ally and father to a gay son. We discuss his mission statements and what has lead him to creating this podcast. His introduction to podcasting and how he originally had a gay co-host. We also discuss the turning point that made him more determined than ever to be an ally and provide active support for LGBTQ people. We talk through his background in the US military system and his views on how the community was, and now is, viewed in that system. Major is a funny, warm and endearing character with great intellect but most of all is a great conversationist. I hope you all enjoy this chat as much as I did!
