Episode 12: Tell it like it is with Jerri Pt 2 of 2

In this episode, Tell it Like it Is Pt 2 with Jerri, Jerri gifts more insight on her life with Type One Diabetes, also how being diagnosed during the time she was and at the age of 14 and with limited recourses she was forced to not only learn diabetes but also due to the lack of education in T1d at the time, she was forced to stop doing some of the activities she enjoyed. Jerri and her siblings would regularly get screened for diabetes and have glucose tolerance tests because of their mom having diabetes. Due to her high level of activity, it is believed that this is why she did not get diagnosed until a routine physical. Early on Jerri would have incidents in school where she would pass out and teachers would not correlate it with her new diagnosis. It was a very rough time for her then.
