Episode 12: Wayne Dixon
from Nordic Tales & American Trails
In this week's episode of Nordic Tales and American Trails, Erik sits down with Wayne Dixon from the American Bear Foundation. We dive into the foundation’s mission, dedicated to the protection and development of bears, their habitat, and the tradition of bear hunting across the United States. The ABF stands strong as an all-volunteer non-profit, focusing on black bear conservation and the unique challenges of managing black bears alongside the successful recovery of grizzly populations. They also advocate for better opportunities for future generations of hunters. Home - American Bear Foundation Of course, we couldn’t leave out the dogs! Wayne shares stories about his young West Siberian Laikas, now about 1.5 years old, which come from Alex Kurashev’s dogs—the same ones Erik hunted with during his U.S. trip. You can catch the full story of that adventure in Episode 7. This and much more on this week’s episode! And just a heads-up, this is our first time recording remotely with a guest, so we hope the sound quality holds up. Enjoy Episode 12 of Nordic Tales and American Trails!
