Episode 120 | Brainspotting with Tina Clark, LPC
from Psych Talk · host Dr. Jessica Rabon
In today's episode of Psych Talk, I chat with Tina Clark, LPC about brainspotting. Brainspotting is a type of somatic therapy that uses spots in a person's visual field to help them process trauma. Tina describes in detail what brainspotting is, why she become interested in integrating it into her practice, and the training she went through to become a certified brainspotting therapist. Tina discusses what brainspotting can be used for and things it may be counter-indicated for. Additionally, she discusses how it is similar to and different than EMDR, as well as how to find a brainspotting therapist. Tina then walks me through a brainspotting activity, where I share and work through something that causes me a lot of anxiety. After the activity, I share my experience going through it and Tina shares her observations. As this is a podcast and listeners are unable to see the process, I have uploaded the clip of Tina doing brainspotting on me to YouTube.
