Episode 120: Winter hangs around. - Kris sees Batman - Rent the Chicken founders Jenn and Phill

Welcome to Episode 120. Its been a busy day for both of us this weekend as we record this. Kristine was up in north county putting a wedding together in the rain. While Kris took the boys and his dad to the movies to see the new Batman movie. Later we share crazy different pets we've owned growing up. Then we are joined by both Homestead Jenn and Phill. From the company Rent the Chicken. They started their business in 2013. Rent The Chicken has two main product lines. They provide 2 or 4 egg laying hens for a spring till fall rental. This includes the coop, feed, free delivery within 50 miles or 80 km and hens that are ready to lay. The other product is our Hatch The Chicken program where they bring an incubator, cage, and all of the supplies for a 5 week hatching experience. The first 3 weeks the chicks are growing inside the egg. You can candle them with a special flashlight we provide and you can actually see the baby chicks moving, growing, and developing. It's almost like an ultra sound! After they hatch, you keep them in a cage they provide and then two weeks later we pick everything up. They provide hatching at schools, homeschools, peoples homes, daycares, libraries, and even senior care facilities.
