Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Matthew 5:9 1 [[A Song of degrees.]] Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say Psalm 129:1 DEVOTION Based on Psalm 129 Tonight’s psalm acknowledges the reality of enduring affliction and hardship. It reminds us that, like Israel, we may face trials repeatedly, but God’s faithfulness sustains us. While life's challenges can feel overwhelming, this psalm invites us to remember how God has brought us through past afflictions, giving us hope for the future. Take a moment to reflect on the ways God has carried you through difficulties. Breathe out the weight of past or present struggles, and breathe in the reassurance that He remains with you. Trust that no matter how often hardship comes, His love and faithfulness will never fail. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Praise God for His sustaining power and faithfulness through every season of affliction. Reflect on His unchanging love and His ability to bring you through even the most challenging circumstances. Rejoice that He is always with you, providing strength and hope. CONFESSION: Think of times when you’ve allowed the weight of affliction to cloud your trust in God’s faithfulness. Confess those moments and ask for a renewed perspective, trusting in His ability to bring good from your struggles. THANKSGIVING: Thank God for His presence in every trial you’ve faced. Express gratitude for His strength that carried you through past afflictions and for the ways He’s worked in your life to bring growth and hope. SUPPLICATION: Father, I acknowledge the hardships I’ve faced but also recognize Your faithfulness in sustaining me. Help me to trust in Your presence and strength during times of trouble. Give me the confidence to endure, knowing that You are always working for my good. Let Your peace surround me tonight and renew my hope in You. When we were Your enemies, You called us friends and children united under Your redemptive work. Your aim is to bridge gaps - between You and us, us and each other, and within ourselves. As Your children, I pray we would all emulate Your character by being peacemakers. As we are transformed by Your grace and love, may we continually extend the same to others.
