What do all of these have in common? - Found dream job. Applied. Went on 3 rounds of interviews over 5 weeks, eliminated in the 4th round. - Had a radical, game-changing idea on how to implement a new technology that costs $2.2 million over 5 years and will completely overhaul company's process. Pitched it to the Board. They said No, Not now. - Hired your team of A players. Finally assembled a team of rockstars. Time to deliver on your big metrics. After 6 months, no results, low morale. Attrition. These 3 scenarios may seem like they have nothing in common. Oh, but they do. They depend almost entirely on your ability to communicate. Your communication is your biggest asset as a leader. It is the key to leading change, interviewing and landing skip-level roles, inspiring your teams, persuading the business, and being that charismatic leader you admire. I know, I know...you already know how to communicate. You've read the textbooks in your MBA program, taken the Linkedin courses, and even taken the training provided by your company.
