Episode 124 (3/7/23): QB Daniel Jones and the New York Giants Agree To Four-Year Deal, RB Saquon Barkley Franchise Tagged, Analysis and Thoughts on the Giants Running It Back

In this episode, Joey is joined by the sports wizard Paul to break down the New York Giants signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year deal, worth $160 million. They discuss where Jones now stands among quarterbacks in the NFL in average annual value (AAV) and explain why they were impressed with Jones’ progression over the last year. They highlight the fact that stability in the front office and the Giants coaching staff have both allowed Jones to flourish and work on his strengths. In addition to that, the duo dive into the Giants finding a way to franchise tag running back Saquon Barkley. They praise Jones and Barkley for prevailing under all of the unwarranted criticism and the poor coaching they were forced to deal with before the Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen era. At the end, Joey breaks down Daniel Jones’ statistics from the Joe Judge era and compares it to his numbers from the two seasons without Judge as his head coach, proving how much Judge regressed Jones in two seasons at the helm.
