Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Genesis 37:5 Pride will isolate you from the people around you. Today’s story highlights Joseph’s pride and his brothers’ envy, which led to betrayal and hardship. Though the family was divided, God’s plan remained at work, showing us how He can turn trials into part of His greater purpose. STORY Bible in a Year: The Dreams of Joseph Scripture But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him. Genesis 37:4 God gave Joseph grand dreams and favor above the rest of his brothers. This was a privilege young Joseph couldn’t handle at first. He flaunted his favor in front of his brothers. Joseph’s brother hated him for his dreams and the favor he had from his father. Their envy turned to action, leading to Joseph’s betrayal and sale into slavery. This was the beginning of Joseph’s tumultuous journey. This chapter sets the stage for a story of God's providence, even in circumstances that seem utterly hopeless. The story of Joseph is a profound example of how envy and misunderstanding can lead to deep family divisions and personal suffering. Yet, it also showcases how God can use even the worst situations for a greater purpose. Joseph's trials were not meaningless; they were steps towards fulfilling the destiny God had laid out for him. REFLECTION Reflect on your own life experiences where you have felt betrayed or misunderstood. How did you respond to these challenges? Were you able to see God’s hand at work, even in the midst of hardship? Take time to forgive those who have wronged you, understanding that God’s plan is greater than our immediate pain or understanding. PRAYER And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. GENESIS 37:5 As I greet this new day I thank You Lord that I am growing in blessing and influence. Like Joseph, I thank You for uncommon favor with everyone I come in contact with. Like his coat of many colors I thank You that my unique giftings can be seen by all around me. When others around me plot against my future and try to derail the dreams You've given me I will refuse to become a slave to their bitterness and envy. I will not allow fear to make me forget my future, I will not abandon my position of power for I know that He who began a good work is faithful to complete it. I decree and declare that my dreams are still alive and that they will come to pass!
