Episode 125 - What is the Coronavirus? (Science, Stats, Myths, and Conspiracies)
from Topicocalypse · host Humannequin Media
Ladies, gentlemen, and all other folks out there, welcome back to Topicocalypse . . . the only podcast on the internet. We've been quarantined, but we haven't been silenced. On this episode, we're talking about a little virus you've probably never heard of . . . the Coronavirus a.k.a. COVID-19. There's a lot of fear surrounding this virus, but very few facts (or at least none that are talked about). Between the news, friends, family, social media, and doctors, there is so much information, but very few answers to the questions people actually want and need the answers to. That being said, we have taken it upon ourselves to - for what might be the first time - do some research, hunt down some facts, and find reliable statistics pertaining to COVID-19 so that we can answer some of those burning questions being asked by both you and us. After the science and statistics, we'll walk you through some of the most talked about myths and conspiracies surrounding this virus, debunking what we can and ultimately leading to more questions. If there is something we've overlooked, or something we're wrong about, please send us an email at [email protected]. We hope you are staying safe and entertained in this time of social isolation. As always, enjoy! Special shoutout to the Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization, and John Hopkins University.
