Episode #126: Solemn Vale Pt. 1 (Actual Play UK Livestream)

from What Am I Rolling? · host WAIR Podcast

Content Warnings/Trigger Warnings: Folkhorror themes, violence, disappearances, child endangerment, supernatural horror, 1970s attitudes. Show Notes This week, Fiona is joined by Pip, James, Adam and Rhys for ‘Solemn Vale’, a narrative-driven storytelling game where players tell abhorrent tales of horror and the supernatural. Published by Dirty Vortex, ‘Solemn Vale’ is set against the backdrop of 1970s England, exploring a repugnant world of Folk Horror and the paranormal. Each game is a communal storytelling experience, with the players taking on the roles of visitors to this village ensnared in a tale of mystery and survival. Guided by the Narrator, each story will deliver a small glimpse into the grim underbelly of the vale and the festering malevolence feeding it. Success is by no means certain, as the Wyrd corrupts and destroys all those who confront it You can find out more information about ‘Solemn Vale’ on the Dirty Vortex's website. We specialize in unpacking the nuances of what is considered sacred and profane, particularly focusing on sex, death, and all that pertains to the circle of life. Our aim in focusing on such ”taboo” subject matter is to demystify what is unconscious, bring to light what has been known for centuries as ”the occult,” and empower the rapid transformation that is occurring on the Planet. Explicit Never Time to Give Up Shadoe Lass A nod to the classics with a note from the future. A project meant to encompass every call I wanted to make but never went through.
