Episode 128 - The Revolution in Cancer Treatment

Emily Whitehead was 5 years old when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, the most common cancer in children. When the usual chemotherapy did not keep her cancer in remission, doctors at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia offered her a newly developing therapy that would use her own immune system to fight the cancer. She was the first child in the world to receive the therapy and is now at age 17, is celebrating her 10th year of being cancer-free!
