I have no endurance sports background, played some team sport at school but no decent standard at all. After leaving university and starting work all exercise ended and after a few years I woke up one day and decided i didn’t like the direction I was headed so decided to start running. This evolved into participating in my first triathlon in 2004 and immediately falling in love with the sport.Since then I’ve finished almost 140 triathlons, focusing on middle distance for the last 10 years. I’ve had the good fortune of representing GB a number of times, an experience that culminated in recent years with me winning gold in my age group at the long distance world champs in 2022 and 2024.Triathlon has provided me with some many happy memories, experiences and friends that I recently decided to write a book summarising the life lessons the last 20 years have taught me, ‘What Has Triathlon Ever Done for Me’."You can Follow Pete on Instagram @peteluceggyou can get his book from amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/What-Has-Triathlon-Ever-Done/dp/196841312X#:~:text=Book%20overview,country%20on%20the%20world%20stage.You Can Follow us  onYouTube - AMP GBInstagram @amp_1967Facebook : AMPGBfind all our episodes on our websiteWebsite is : https://agegroupmultisportpodcast.buzzsprout.com/email: [email protected] you are an agegroup athlete and would like to come on the pod, get in touch.Support the show
