Episode 130 - Rambo: First Blood (1:05:34)
from Actual Anarchy Podcast - AnCap Movie Reviews from a Rothbardian Perspective · host Actual Anarchy
Memorial Day isn't just about sales on electronics and home appliances, it's also a time to discuss valor and heroism and sacrifice. With that, we bring you our review of Rambo: First Blood Green Beret veteran Rambo takes on a Pacific Northwest sheriff and the National Guard. He's a soft-spoken Vietnam vet who drifts into a small town looking for no trouble, but finds it in the form of a psychotic local sheriff who finds pleasure in hating him for no reason.` Join us next week as we boldly go where many have trod before, but not on this podcast, and do a few episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation for our birthday boy. We will be discussing S1, E7: Justice and S2, E9: The Measure of a Man. Engage! Show notes to be posted at: http://www.actualanarchy.com/130 Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking. Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter. We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film. The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film. We publish at least once per week; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics) and have guests. SUBSCRIBE, RATE AND REVIEW ON APPLE PODCASTS (or iTUNES)
