Episode 131 | Stress Management & Being "Good Enough" with Dr. Rachel Goldman, PhD

from Psych Talk · host Dr. Jessica Rabon

April is Stress Awareness Month and in today's episode of Psych Talk I have the honor of speaking with Dr. Rachel Goldman, licensed psychologist about stress management and this idea of "good enough". Rachel first defines for listeners what stress is and the range of stressors that individuals may face. We then discuss specific strategies individuals can use to manage and cope with their stress. We discuss how stress and overwhelm often leave us feeling not "good enough" and the relation and differences between "good enough" and perfectionism. Dr. Rachel describes some CBT strategies that can be used to help shift people's mindset from needing to be perfect to accepting that "good enough" is truly good enough, as well as the benefits of making this shift.
