Send us Fan MailWelcome along to another episode of the pod.It is our great pleasure to introduce GB Agegroup athlete Kirsty Prior. For over 10 years Kirsty has competed across a host of different multi-sport events, from sprint to long distance. Kirsty says" I’ve always loved sport, playing all sorts of different team sports throughout school and university.  More recently, the thirst for adventure has taken hold, and sport has been a great excuse to get outside and have fun – whether that’s a run on the coastal path, taking to the trails on my bike or playing on my paddleboard.  I’m at my happiest when I’m out in the wild, soaking up everything the great British weather has to offer.I can get bored easily, so I’m always on the lookout for something new.  My journey into duathlon started as a mountain biker, racing cross-country.  I spent a couple of years on the national circuit (progressing from finishing dead last in my first race – rolling in to see the winners already on the podium receiving their medals!), as well as competing in 12- and 24-hour events.  I was starting to get itchy feet when a friend suggested I try an off-road duathlon at our local trails, Ashton Court.  A rookie win (courtesy of a flying bike lap) and I was hooked.Roll forward over ten years, and I’ve taken part in lots of different multi-sport events, from sprint to long distance and everything in between.  I’ve been privileged to compete for GB Age Group all over the world, meeting some amazing people and experiencing some weird and wonderful race locations along the way.  More recently, I started to realise just how much knowledge and experience I’ve amassed over that time, and that it’s incredibly rewarding to share that knowledge with others through coaching. As a coach, I aim to be open, honest and encouraging.  I take a holistic approach, considering all aspects of performance, from swim-bike-run to strength and conditioning, nutrition, rest and recovery, health and wellbeing.  I’m collaborative, and believe in empowering individuals to make their own decisions, to be brave and to try new things.  We learn from experience, so don’t be afraid to have a go!Away from the world of swim-bike-run:I’m a sports therapist.I have a crazy, lovable sprocker spaniel.Team sports are still a vital part of my life.  I love playing touch rugby, and am the co-founder of Eurostars – promoting the development of masters women’s touch across EuropePlease enjoy her journey and be inspired.if you would like to follow Kirsty she is on instagram @kp_trail_adventuresand if you would like to get in touch about her coaching the link is www.4performance.co.ukYou Can Follow us  onYouTube - AMP GBInstagram @amp_podcastFacebook : Richard Joseph Conwayfind all our episodes on our websiteWebsite is : https://agegroupmultisportpodcast.buzzsprout.com/email: [email protected] you are an agegroup athlete and would like to come on the pod, get in touch.Support the show
