I am Seryna, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Educator. I moved from my home state of Philadelphia, PA to the Marietta, GA area to find peace and security for my family. That move from the north to the south was a learning experience not only due to the culture change but also due to the many transitions in life. The transition from a nurse of seven years was to combine my medical knowledge with mental wellbeing. From that time on I focused more on the factors that most affect wellbeing, mental wellbeing, mental health, diet, exercise, and personal expectations. My nonprofit “Shape My World Inc” provides targeted support and education to minority families exploring the close relationship between diet, exercise, unwanted behaviors and family struggles. I am focused on building up my clients to empower them towards their goal whatever that is to them. Over the past 9 years I have been a professional school counselor working with students and their families in surrounding school districts where there are pressing needs. To promote change I also teach and mentor incoming school counselors in training at the master’s level. Women have particular challenges often relating to or affecting the dynamics with our families, friends, careers, and even personal contentment. My therapeutic services are holistic in nature, meaning I work with you to understand what your concerns are and how they are affecting your life. With this knowledge we can start working through your concerns with a plan and clearer understanding that many systems are linked in our bodies. The emphasis will always be personal empowerment, allowing you to take ownership of your actions to make positive changes that can lead to long term contentment. I firmly believe that all individuals/families have the potential to achieve their realistic goals to have a fulfilling and productive life. Together I guide my clients towards discovering personal strengths and acknowledging their abilities while addressing areas of concern while. With that a sense of control can be gained as growth is seen.
