from Nutritional Revolution Podcast

Send us Fan MailIn this episode we talk with Isabel "Iz" King about:Being newly pregnant as an endurance athlete, and how that affects nutritionMental willpower through long bike races and injuryIsabel “Iz” King is a professional off-road cyclist from California who likes to push herself to new limits on the bike, while inspiring others to attack challenges with a smile. She didn’t take a traditional path to becoming a professional off-road cyclist. Iz began her athletic career at Columbia University, playing D1 soccer, where she finished as the team’s captain, first-time all-Ivy League honors and she earned the Ali Ahern MVP award. Despite those accolades and the momentum she built, she traded in her cleats for the world of finance post undergrad. She did find her way back, though. She discovered the world of endurance sport through triathlon while attending business school at UCLA Anderson. She eventually qualified to compete as a pro triathlete during her third 70.3 Ironman. The lure of cycling was too strong, and Isabel tabled her plans for post-grad work to pursue triathlon. However in 2020, she was inspired by the world’s events to reimagine her athletic career, putting her training to good use to raise money for UCLA healthcare workers. She also partnered with Reggie Miller to speak out against social justice during this time. These days, Iz is back on the trails, and you can spot her in her signature orange kits—training hard on the roads of California and lining up for the LifeTime Grand Prix gravel and mountain bike races—always with a big smile on her face, proving that fast is fun and friendly. Please note that this podcast is created strictly for educational purposes and should never be used for medical diagnosis and treatment.Connect w/ Iz: IG: www.instagram.com/king_izStrava: https://www.strava.com/pros/20067483YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@king_izMentioned:LMNT electrolyte: https://amzn.to/4jdIDb5Carbs Fuel Drink Mix: https://amzn.to/3E5aUSfBrands that are supporting her as a pregnant athleteCamelbak: https://amzn.to/4cb63viScott Bikes: https://www.scott-sports.com/us/en/sports/bikeShimano: https://amzn.to/4j0nUHZGarmin: https://amzn.to/3FPTk5eCarbs Fuel: Shop The Feed Vittoria: https://vittoria.com/MORE NRApply to work with Kyla → https://p.bttr.to/3ZrwzcFUse code NEWPOD10 for 10% off our meal plans → https://nutritional-revolution.com/products/CONNECT Instagram → www.instagram.com/nutritionalrevolutionSponsorship inquiries → [email protected] in having your biomarkers or nutrigenomics checked?
