from Totally Deep Backcountry Skiing Podcast

On Episode 133 of Totally Deep Podcast, Doug Stenclik and Randy Young of www.cripplecreekbc.com bring you the lowdown on the world of uphill and backcountry skiing and boarding. Gear, technique, fashion, jargon, guests, and assorted spray from folks who know how to earn it in the backcountry. The world's best backcountry skiing podcast.   Hop scotch across the North Atlantic, and it's off to Norway's Lyngen Alps with the RAB crew. In this episode, we speak with Norway's Thea Røhme and Krister Kopala and get the lowdown on how their partnership works in high- and low-stress environments. Røhme is a charger on skis and is currently working toward her IFMGA certification, while Kopala is a highly regarded splitboard mountaineer who is making quite a stir on YouTube with his high-speed riding in some dicey situations. (You can find Kopala's YouTube here, and he is a regular over on Nikolai Shirmer's channel.)   Doug and Manaaseh were in Norway for a RAB event where Kopala and Røhme, both RAB athletes, screened their upcoming film, New Terrain, which will be released this summer. The film explores the duo's relationship, their ascents and descents, and how they make it all work out.     On Episode 133 of the Totally Deep Podcast: The good life in Norway's Lyngen Alps.  The sometimes delicate art of communicating with your partner. Thea may build better anchors than Kristor.  Not making a plan.  Making a life and building out professional riding projects.  Sourdough bread... why was it flat? The crux of New Lines. Heads up, North America, Kristor will spend two months seeking out fine snow in the States and Mammoth. He'll have his hardboots.      Thanks for listening and joining us for the 2025-2026 season. And remember: be safe out there.   More info about TDP at Totally Deep Podcast Blog on Cripplecreekbc.com. Comments: [email protected].
