Welcome to a Breath of Fresh Air podcast. Here with your hosts Earl Roberts and Nikhaz Ge. As a young person, Christianity can be so foggy, like spoken of mirrors and so unclear. But we're here to bring you a breath of fresh air.

Elijah, arise and go to Zarifath, which belongs to Sidon and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you. Yes, Gar. I will do justice, you said.

Hello there, ma'am. I don't mean to interrupt you gathering sticks, but can I trouble you to fetch me some water in a vessel so that I can drink it, please? Okay, sure. I can do that.

And one more thing. Can you bring me a morsel of bread as well? Surely as the Lord lives, I have nothing big. Only a handful of flour and a jar and a little oil and a jug.

And now I am actually going together, a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son that may eat it and die. Do not be afraid. Go and do justice, you have said. But make me a little cake first and bring it to me.

And after it, make some for you and your son. For this is what the Lord God of Israel has said. The barrel of meal shall not waste. Neither shall the crews of oil fail until the day that the Lord send it rain upon the land.

Last week we saw how far away from God the northern kingdom of Israel has gotten. Especially under the leadership of King Aon. However, no matter how far in darkness we may fall, God always has someone who can deliver his message. This week we are discussing 1 Kings 17 and are introduced to Elijah the prophet.

As always, be blessed and enjoy. We are going to be thinking about the northern kingdom of particular. Our last episode was based on 1 Kings 16. We see that was about 5 to 6 Kings.

None of them found it in a way that they should serve God. And it is interesting. How many chances do we get that God gives us to do the right thing and we purposely go against it. And I just want to encourage those out there.

I want to encourage them to do something for years or something with a certain way. It doesn't mean it's the right way or even the most righteous way it should be done. And there are a lot of times where a fall down status quo is a bad thing. And we see the kings in the north, especially.

We're essentially just falling down status quo. Jeroboam did this. I'm not going to remove the idols. Omri did this.

I'm not going to remove the idols. Zimri, I'm not going to remove the idols. And so it's like when God calls to be the salt of the earth, think about what salt does to food. We as people enjoy food, you can definitely know when food is in season.

You can definitely know where there's no salt in the food. Because think about it, even though you can't see the salt when you're eating the food, you can definitely taste the effects of salt. And that's what God calls us to be. He calls us to be the difference in a room with the difference in a nation.

He calls us to be a stand out people. And a lot of times that requires going against the status quo. And so I feel like we shouldn't be, give me a person example. Even this week I was going to come see someone, right?

And it's crazy. I have a Bible podcast that I co-host in the college, right? And there are sometimes that I still feel uncomfortable talking about God. I don't want on one setting that I'm still working on, right?

But these are instances where God is calling me to be the salt of the earth. And sometimes it goes to actually, you'll have to stand up but you have to believe. You have to be going against the status quo. And you shouldn't be ashamed of doing that.

So just because there was an already an established way of things were done or how people feel or how people believe that you shouldn't be going up, going in there, not actually standing up for God. And it's just mind blowing that none of these kings so far, especially in the north, has done so. You even felt the need or desire to do so. I think, I just thought last episode, I think you get into a point where it's like, the northern kingdom feels like they don't want to associate themselves with anything southern kingdom, including God.

You know, and I think that's like a private thing where it's like, well, uh, with the Vatican done, right? If you're all worshipping them, uh, this God, I'm not even worshipping this God, but I make it, I try to differentiate myself from everything southern kingdom. You know, that's, that's my assumption. You know, I might be wrong, but for some reason, they have a vendetta against the most I got.

And it's not like, it's not like they just serve another God's and bad things happen. And they can't put someone together. Profits are literally coming to you and saying, hey, you know, Jerobo, I'm seeing this happening now because you're following Jerobo. And we have profits during this time that prophesy and it does, there's no change.

It's no change to like, you're like, I mean, even say, oh, yeah, they straighten up for like a weekend in a bar drop. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know what sort of. And I think bring it up because it doesn't even like judges.

Like judges, we know it's crazy. Like judges was almost a year ago, right? But the whole theme of judges were like, you know, they would cry out to God for help. Like, you know, God would send them every demo.

It would be good for a while. They backslide, they get oppressed, they would cry to God for help. And then, you know God would send them another deliverer. We need to see in this at all, they're not thinking them.

There's no crying out for God. There's no we need something better. There's no we want redemption. There's no we want to be saved.

It's a we're doing evil and we are so okay with it. We're very complacent with it. It's it's it's in our nature at this point that we see nothing wrong with it. And it's interesting how a kingdom that was, I can't even say that was, you know, there's still God's chosen people.

Even though you guys had your own split now, you know what I'm saying? Like you guys are still God's chosen people, which we're going to get into in this episode, right? It's interesting, we'll get into this, right? But they're still God's chosen people, but they have become so comfortable in their simple ways that they don't see anything wrong with what they're doing.

And like the interesting thing that makes it even more interesting too, is like you could look to your point, they might say that it's a period, you can't know anything like the South Stone, but you can see King Aeso right now, I mean, and then his reigns are thinking right now too. But you were 41 years old, you could look to the South and be like, they're actually being blessed. There was like, if you go to chronicles, there was 10 years, but it was completely at peace. Yep.

You get the billing stuff? You know what I'm saying? And then it's like, no one thought, maybe we don't want something wrong, because we constantly have war. Like, what's different?

I think, I think they can't think that way, because they're already contented not to just ignore God, bro. Yeah. You know what I mean? Well, there's so much, there's so much, let's say, like one of the advisors or a prophet, say, yo, y'all, y'all going through this?

Because they were so very bro, come from around me talking about, you see what happened when the man of God spoke to Jerobo, and tell him what's gonna happen to that alter. He's like, yo, I'll be in him, you know? Get that man. And then it's on to the way, you know what I mean?

Like, they don't want to hear that. Like, you try to bring logic to like a spirituality conversation right now, we're like, no, it vibes over here. We're like, I feel like Bail is the guy. So Bail is the guy, that's how he's giving it up right now.

Yeah, it's interesting, man. It's very interesting to get points, like a spiritual warfare. And to people who don't think when the devil has you ensnared and you're trapped, that it's something to play with, in his trap, something to play with. It's really not because it's a nation who deep down probably still knows the truth.

And I don't want to say everyone in the northern kingdom is probably by because we see like, again, we're gonna talk about a prophet who was from the north who's still kind of new, kind of state kind, who's still new God. So it's not some good actors, but it's like overall, this was like the state eyes of the northern kingdom, especially the leader himself, who was supposed to be, you know, the leader of the whole nation, who was so perverted in his ways that again, if the king is proclaiming something and ordering something, you as a commoner, it's kind of hard for you to be the salt of the earth. You know what I'm saying? And that's why God holds leaders, especially spiritually, just doing such a high regard, because I'm supposed to say high regard, but such a like, higher calling because you guys based on what you do is how so much more sheep are the flock of the church and the chosen people, how they react.

Because if you oppress people and something can't worship me, then I'm gonna deal with you more harshly than I'm gonna deal with them because they said the free will, but you are almost trying to take away their will that I gave them. And God doesn't do kindly with that. Yeah, but to whom much is given, you know, much is required. That's a fact, that is a fact.

Yeah, and that comes from Luke 1248, to whom much is given much is required. And so the same even like a logical or a quote of wisdom, this is biblical, I mean, it's wise, but it's biblical. This person, me, I might only have the influence of my household, I might only have to worry about my wife and my family, you know what I'm saying? Or you might have someone who is a political figure, or a king who was the influence of the whole nation.

They are given much and so much is required. You know what I'm saying? It's absolute fact. So that's I guess some extra commentary on last week's episode.

And also ties into this week's episode. So last week, again, like I mentioned, we focused on first king. I was like, okay, you guys, I'll try it. We were focused on first king, chapter 16.

And this week we're focusing on first king, chapter 17. And the end of last chapter, we saw a king, the new king of the King of the Northern Kingdom, Ahab, who took his wife Jezebel and was even more so defiant, six like Jezebel from the Sedonians. Not a god worshiping nation, by the way. And we see built a temple to Baal in the Northern Kingdom and established a new city called Samaria and put this temple in Samaria.

And we see we also had a figure who was Eliel, something. He is something. He is something. H-I-E-L.

And he re-established the city of Jericho, which again was kind of going against one of the records that Joshua prophesied in the book of Joshua. So first kings, chapter 17. And Elijah, the Tishbite, one of the inhabitants of Gilead, set we have as the Lord God of Israel lives before whom I stand. There shall not be due nor reign these years, except at my word.

So right out of the gate, right? We see last, which is so interesting, right? So we see last episode, the God of Israel, quote unquote, according to Ahab, is Baal. Because Baal set up, Ahab set up Baal as the God of the Northern Kingdom, which is Israel.

Now we see in Elijah, it's going to be very important Elijah with a J came to Ahab and said, you might think Baal is your God, but God hasn't forgotten about by, forgotten, forgotten about his nation. You were like, again, like I was saying earlier, like Israel is just as much as the people as Judaism as his time. He says, the Lord God of Israel lives, like God still lives yet, not, it's so funny too, man, because a lot of people try to say, oh, just because you don't believe in something, you try to cast out the way that God doesn't mean that God isn't real and God isn't living. It is one of the things that doesn't matter, if you don't believe it, it doesn't make it not any, it doesn't make any less true.

So God does live and I come in his authority. So he establishes who authority is coming undone. He's saying, God is the God of Israel, whether you believe it or not. And he also says, okay, there should not be any rainfall or any doom.

It's not even you ain't gonna have to miss in the morning to wet the grass, to help grow the crops, you don't have nothing, there will be essentially a drought. Until, I say so. Yeah, until I change, until I call it off. He's saying like, this ain't like, when Joseph or you have seven years of famine, nope, how long, don't even worry about that.

You ain't gotta hurt your head. You ain't gotta think about trying to outlast as a make a preference for this. They will be a drought that will last until, indefinitely, you know what I'm saying? Like right up the gate, in verse two, the word of the Lord came to him saying, get away from here and turn eastward and hide by the brook of Chareth, which flows into into the Jordan.

And it will be that you shall drink from that brook. And I have commanded Ravens to feed you there. So he went and did a coin to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the brook of Chareth, which flows into the Jordan. The Ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and the bread and the meat in the evening.

And he drank from the brook. And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. You know, I was just looking up, killing it. Cause you know, he's a Tishbite.

You know, he's a Tishbite. Tishbite. I was just trying to, trying to remember, because I don't know if you remember, it was a nation who was speaking to Joshua and they were saying, oh, we come from this far place and we have bread. I try to remember their name.

I thought it was, I thought that might have been it, the Gileadites, but it was it. But I found out that Jephthah was also a Gileadite Jephthah. You know, the infamous Jephthah to sacrifice his daughter unto God because they want to victory. You know, just a little sidebar, just the reason why I'm so quieted so far.

But so, so last episode they talked about Ahab and they said he's Ricky, Richard Bale, and this and the third. And then now we just get introduced to this Elijah character. And the first thing we learn about him is that he said, yo, it's farming in the lawn, straight up, right? But what's interesting is that like when we progressed or we realized a little more specific things that was happening with Ahab and why, you know, this farming was probably taking place specifically.

But as of right now, we just see, we know Ahab was making no sense for sure. But, you know, we have Elijah who, you know, proclaimed this farming and it even affects him. And so it affects everyone. This ain't like in Egypt where the blade was happening.

But, you know, the people from the Israelites was in a different city. They were just chilling. You know, everybody affected by this farm. And it also shows, again, like how long this farming had to be and the shop had to bend because, pardon me, brooks don't really just dry up overnight.

You know what I'm saying? I mean, it's the sauce that was feeding was probably running water coming down from the mountains or something, hadn't rained in so long that the brook eventually dried up. So it just had to be a sustained, a sustained route that happened to really make the people ponder, like, why is this happening? And to your point, like, it wasn't like, he was unaffected by this.

This was his source of water. And we see also too, like God told him, pronounce this, go do what I tell you to do. But also if you do it, go one hide. Because he knows a lot about trying to kill him.

You know what I'm saying? So he said, go one hide and don't worry about how you're going to get food, which I think is a remarkable part of the story. I remember this part going up. It's kind of funny.

Like, I was like, this is the largest first introduction. But like, this mom was getting feed by birds. Yeah. Wait, it wasn't eating the birds.

But the birds bringing them meat on and bread. Yeah. I don't know how to feel about a bird bringing meat. What did you bring?

That's the meat cut. I might have to cook the meat. Anyway, I tried to put the meat in the technical right. But the bread tripping me up is too big as bread, bro.

Because the bread is stealing bread. Then we have a scale like seagulls, bro. But seagulls really, bro. They really don't.

I don't know what to call up, bro. I don't know what to call them bases. But that's a bit of dirt. But anyway, they really just pick up anything.

They'd steal anything. Like seagulls. Like seagulls. Like, seagulls.

Like, they're like junkies, bro. Like, they need that. I need that, bro. Like, for real.

But anyway, the river's not bread, bro. Make bread. Probably see them bread from the evil city. The pick up of the spread out there.

They say, all right? I think it probably is. They say like the riches of the wicked is stored for the righteous and stuff like that. Like, I can find that tax.

That had to be what was happening. And so now we see, you find that. I should have promised 13. Promise 13.

Perfect. Perfect. 22. But yeah, it's the way that you have birds coming to feature.

It's not like a bird beak. Can I don't know that much? Yeah. But a good man leaves it in here.

It's the shelter. We remember that tax. It's the same. It's the same tax.

Promise 32. And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. But yeah, it might not have been one bird. It's a muscle.

It might have been a frog, bro. A bird camera. A bird camera. You meet on bread and see him beak, bro.

Yeah, true. Fox. You might have gone to get that one bird, but it got in the box. Oh, that bird.

Oh my god. But I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, it's like, a ravens ain't that big, bro. That's the first thing, like it's an eagle. So I'm like, I pick it up a big.

I can see it, but I'm going to pick it up a big feet. Mm. You can bring a little bit more, but you're foot. Right.

But I think it's a big, which is a foot. Yeah, I think I think it was multiple of them. But one thing I do think, though, is that when people describe mono, right? You know, whenever we think about mono, we think all this and most like the past days and things, because it was from heaven, right?

I don't know how practical that really was, bro. Like the raven, I'm talking about the raven right now. The raven might have just given him enough to sustain. Period, anything.

You need like, just like a steak. You know what I mean? He's dropping a T-bone steak. It's like, yeah, exactly, you know?

And so I feel like a lot of times when we read the Bible, we want to fictionalize it. We want to fairy tale it up. Like, oh, wait, it's just coming from God, bro. Like, God ain't a human little joke, you know what I mean?

But at the same time, God's a blind. He needs to see his grace is sufficient. That's what you've got to learn in this situation, you know? And so whatever it was, it was sufficient, you know?

It's a stain and that's what you're all. Definitely. And tell it dried up. And tell it dried up.

Mm. And then, so we see in verse eight, the Lord, the word of the Lord came to him saying, arise and go to Zarathath, which belongs to Sidon and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to pardon me to prepare for you. And so your rose, I went to Zarathath.

Excuse me. And when he gave to the city, indeed, the widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, please bring me a little water in a cup that I may drink. As she was going to get it, he called her and said, please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.

So she said, as the Lord your god lives, I don't have bread, only a handful of flour and a bin and a little oil in a jar and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in, go in and prepare for myself and my son. That we may eat, hit and die mercy. Because again, I mean, just for people to like an ex contact, it's like, obviously, there's no there's no there's no water. There's the crops can't grow.

And the crops can't grow. You can't get you can't no longer get weak. Can't get weak. You can't make no more flour.

So now it's a cascading effect because no other things get to the water. So now she's saying we had a drought for a while. My flower is no more. So I literally go like, I was with me and my son and I'm only going to go back home right now to make my last little flower cake.

I don't know if I'm going to be a flower cake or a little bit, not some piece of bread. I mean, my son gave this and then after this, we have nothing else coming our way. No, we're going to die. And Elijah said to her, do not fail.

Go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first and bring it to me. And afterwards, make some for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord God of Israel, the bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil one dry and tell the Lord sends rain on the earth. So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah.

And she and her son and she and he and her household ate for many days. The bin of flour was not used up, not of the oil one dry, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke by Elijah. But one of my biggest fairs is being in a type of farming room. Like I have a very big fear of being in a farm, not even a farm, you know, being in a predicament where food that scares.

Yeah, we have food that scares and our people can't be civilized no more. You see what I'm saying? And it's like your friend, like double cross, you are steel. It's like this last piece of bread.

Bro, this happened because I read this book that I'm ticked with. He's actually like a historical book by Flavius Josephus. He was a Pharisee that actually converted to Romanism during the time of the Jewish revolt in 70 AD. And he was talking about how he was cannibalism and all type of this.

And this thing woke up a fair in me, bro. And it's funny because like in dude around me, 28, that's one of the ones where a lot of people, there's a lot of deep dives on that chapter. And it talks about, it was a life for death. It was Moses talking to his people saying, the blessings that will come from servant guards and then the curses that will come from not servant guard.

Farmer was born from him, he was talking about how you might have the gentleness woman in the world. And because she's so desperate, she can turn the cannibalism. They say the same thing. You might have the gentle, most gentle kind, man in the world.

And he can turn the cannibalism. It's all in the Bible, dude around me, 28 reading contacts, though. Read the whole dude around me, if you have to read the whole dude around me. You know what I mean?

Read the whole dude around me if you have to read the whole dude around me. Like Genesis, dude, dude around me, get understanding. But it's prophetic. But now we see, we see where there's a famine in the line, bro.

I just want to make that contact. Before I read this extra biblical writing, which was antiquities of the Jews, these people were not Christian, this man is not a Christian. He was a Jew, obviously. And this is a historical fact.

You know what I'm saying about what was happening during that time. And this, for our friends, this happened about 40 years after Jesus died around that time. Very close to the time about it. They're talking about Paul, and that was probably writing day books during this time in history.

And he was talking about the famine, but he's talking about how people breaking in your house and stealing food, like rich people and things like that, bro. You said he's stealing from the poor, but trying to take food on your mouthing, bro. And so I have a fair behind me with a lie dog. I don't want to be in this, personally.

I don't want to be in that type of situation. But just for context, bro, it's a famine. And this woman already know, she knew you have one more meal in the house. Her and her son, right?

Only one more meal for the both of us. And after that, but you know, Robert can come out of the heart. You know, my, you know, we, you know, we haven't come in the business. Elijah even got no real foods to feed them no more, right?

Which is interesting, right? And God instructed them to oblige the prophet. I think in, what did it say, in verse, in verse eight, go to verse nine, arise, go to the two, zero five, which belongs to the side on, which is not an issue like country. It's not an issue like country.

See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you, so God already told this woman to provide for Elijah, you know. And so she asked, Elijah asked her for a total of times, but you asked me to give you something, but I don't even love them. Enough of them for me, for my family. You know what I mean?

And still shows her faith too. Like, like, put yourself in that predicament, man. You and your child, you know what I'm saying? You and your child are a stranger come to you.

Even if God tells you to do this now, hear me from a human perspective. This is your last meal. Most parents, even inclined to feed their child over themselves. So even though this cake was actually getting, you know what I'm saying?

I just feel like I may get a small piece of this, but as long as my son, I can figure it out. Oh, I just, you know, it's so much reserved. It's like, but we're going to die after this. So I might as well let him have his full night.

I got more meat, so you probably take me a little bit of dying. You know what I'm saying? But, but they're just saying, hey, before you even do that, prepare me one. And she doesn't say no, bro.

Like, I need to run into the box. He's saying, I don't watch that. I don't watch that, make us something. And you don't go out and show me.

It's a funny thing, but she ain't really saying no, right? She's like, and like, you know, I didn't want someone to be, they're like, we're trying to request. Right, right. Like, I already tell you no, but let me get you.

Oh, I can't do this. Yeah, like, let me give you the context and like, I understand my situation. And hopefully you'll be like, all right, I gotta cool, I understand. Don't worry about it.

He said, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fine and dandy. But make me one first. But he doesn't even give the context.

Like, do not fail. Like, he's the angel or something, but do not fail. Don't worry. Do not fail.

And do as I have said, but make me a small cake first and bring it to me afterwards. Make some for yourself. For the law, it's said that the flowers should not be used up and the jaw walls should not run dry. Until the law doesn't rain on the earth.

And so again, we see like this first of all, this farm was widespread. You see it's the second city, so I don't even in Israel. You know what I'm saying? There's this small widespread that are even affecting the movement side on, which was from nearby region.

But still it wasn't just like, I was like, this old region ain't getting no rain because of what y'all doing in Ahab, which is foolishness. I mean, like what Ahab is doing was foolishness just to, you know, because I could have been taken out of context. But yeah, I'm like, that's just interesting. But now we see God's faithful in this promise because we don't even know how much flower she had, which obviously wasn't a lot.

But it never ever ran out. So imagine she take off just enough to make a thing, what you call it? A loaf of bread. You know what I'm saying?

You know, you've just enough flower to make what Ahab is going to make. But every day you go back now, you could go back to the flower and make it, not just for you, enough to feed the land here as well. Mm-hmm, living good over here. It seems oil too.

You don't need enough oil to make this one thing. The oiling that we're going to see us using the oil. Keep on going. Next day you come using the oil, pouring and fake.

And each day the flower, the flower, you go back to the flower and the flower and the little bin again. And then this flower is oiling the jar again. No, I just, I just just run over there, like. I know people who's like, bro, like why are you losing weight, bro?

Like, because they ain't enough for real unless they have any house type thing. Like smell the bread. Get it big every day. Yeah, it's a little bread.

Me and I, we can almost have a gun. Yeah, we're doing all that. What's going on? Like, what are you getting all this wheat from?

Yeah, but it shows that God is faithful, man, because like day after day, New mercies I see. But like, this is, because man, thank God I've never been in a predicament where I didn't know where my next meal was coming from. Like, you know that days you wouldn't call out your little bro with the calf clothes, you might have to go try to check in the box or something, but you won't get food. You know what I'm saying?

But, I'm sorry, I didn't say that. I'm sorry, I didn't say that. No shame, the jack in the box. That just is so funny, bro.

That's a random place, bro. You see, it's interesting because jack in the box won the west coast too. It's like a big one, the west coast too. I gotta be, bro.

Gotta be, you know. Because think about it a lot during that. Anyway, we got to talk. Because you really don't see them on the east coast.

On the west coast? Yeah, they are. We got to talk to it. Yeah, so, you know, the jack in the box, right?

But imagine when you literally don't know where your next meal coming from. You know what I'm saying? And you finally have like, you know, if it was one last meal left, when someone asked you, someone asked you to give it to them. With the hope that knowing that each day you go back, it could be there again.

You know what I'm saying? And in your mind, all you were saying, bro. I don't mean enough to even make this video. I don't even have to make myself obvious.

And it sounded like a dream to, bro. No, see, truthfully, it made sense because God already spoken up. So if she had faith, all you have to do is now, on this faith, not right? But outside of that, bro, if someone say, make me suffer right, profit, I don't profit, but I don't have enough of you, bro.

You know what I mean? Oh, God, say this and I, I have to believe you, right? But the stakes are so high, bro. The stakes are high.

This is a life for that situation right now, bro. Because if I give you, if I give you, bro, that means I take it from my son, or from me. I basically take it from both of us at the same time, you know. So she had to have faith, and she did.

To me, even have faith, is even a bigger judgment against than all the kingdom. Oh, yeah. Because you have someone who ain't even an Israelite. You die to everyone calling them.

You ain't a part of the thing at all. But she obeyed the commands of the one true God. I have faith that his promises would come true. You know what I'm saying?

We have a whole kingdom who's supposed to be. It shows in people who worship in Baal. Worship in Baal. And again, back to how we start off this episode, right?

We're just kind of like on a time to be still related. Bro, they in a drought. Who they crying out to? Are they crying out to God?

Yeah, me. The Bible ain't saying they crying out to God. You know what I'm saying? Like, y'all going through a, a, what you call it?

A famine, natural disaster, whatever. But y'all ain't crying out to God. Listen, judge, it'll be like, God, yo, we can't take this. Like, do some.

Hey, again, so complacent. There's no, there's no even trying to go to God. Calling Elijah, but I get what we like. So what could we do?

How can we make it, like, we go? How can we repent? Plus, there's none of that. It's just.

And I go to Jesus' point. When Jesus was talking to the, I think it was the Pharisees. And he said, bro, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was all over. Like, the line of Israel, you know what I mean?

When Elijah was here? What do you went to? I said, don't you know what I mean? Like, don't you?

Like, you remember, you remember what I mean, right? I can pull it up. But it was basically, it was basically trying to say that someone who have faith, regardless of their, God works with faith, bro. Regardless of your, of your religion or your, your nationality, this one was not a Jew.

Regardless of your race and nationality. Right, your race and nationality. Yeah. Look, this one was, this one was not a Jew, but she had faith in God.

God could, God could, God could speak up. You know what I mean? But now, when Jesus, um, hold on. When Jesus was talking, when Jesus was talking to the Pharisee, when Jesus was talking to the Pharisees, they were trying to say, oh, anyway, look for it.

It was 26th. Yeah. Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Seraphoth in Sidon, right? But I tell you, truthfully, that there were many widows in Israel in the time of, in the time of Elijah, and the sky was shut up for three, for three and a half years, and the great fathers wrapped all over the line.

Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but the widow of Seraphoth in Sidon. And there were many lappers in Israel in the time of Elijah, shut up, prophet, yet none, not one of them was clans, only naming the Syrian. The Syrian, you feel me? And so that was Jesus, you know, just when Jesus was talking about, oh, yo, bro, faith, bro, faith, like you're also fixated.

Oh, I'm sorry, I have to be that song. They'll have to be that song. You can't hear this or you can't reach the dot, bro. At the end of the day, God's been doing this from time.

You know what I mean? So when you get to the New Testament, the Pharisees and just Judaism or the Southern Kingdom, they had developed a type of culture that was putting new laws on top of laws on top of laws to the point where they couldn't even really see the law side of what God was actually truly about, and what his mission actually was. And so right now we're reading it in real time. We have the Northern Kingdom.

We have the Southern Kingdom. But God's in Elijah, so a widow from where she was from Sidon? Sidon. But you know who has from Sidon?

You can think? That's what Sidon said. She has a bet. Oh yeah, she was a Sidonian.

She was a Sidonian. That's very true. But you don't think that's crazy, bro? That's like such a crazy parlor.

We have this one woman who is not only a bail worshipper, right? But she is her and her husband, they responsible for the Temple of bail and national bail worship in the Northern Kingdom, right? But then he was like, you can just write off the whole Sidonians, right? But within Sidonian, within Sidonian, all right?

Sidon, right? Sidon, right? It's between Sidonian and Sidonian, that's all good. Yeah, dude.

You be on people who actually do our fate, bro, and it's just go to the point where we were saying last episode, where bro, you want to choice, bro? Like you want to choice this, bro? Yeah, you can know who the most I got is. You know what I'm saying?

And we spoke about Abraham, right? When he was in the line of earth, the child of the years, right? Everybody worshiping idols, but God spoke to him. And he was smart.

You know, God is going to speak to all of us, regardless of religion. But sometimes our religion could block us off from even hearing this voice, you know? Sometimes our own prejudices and stuff like that could stop us from even moving into this will or could make us want to just ignore what we think or ignore our division. Oh, that can't be right.

You know what I mean? That's a fact. So, yeah, we have, we have, you know, let's just remind me of, this remind me early in access, but I want to say after this one or two, where we had the midwives. I think there was the Egyptian midwives.

Yeah. Or maybe they were Hebrew, they were not, like, who? But it's it. Right.

Basically, they were instructed to just kill all the first ones and stuff like that, but like, uh huh, I ain't doing that. You know, people who are going against the green of what is like instructed of them or what is expected of them. You know, this is just like Raha. She was from Jericho.

They had their own religion and their own loyalty to their nation. But she realized the Mosai God is power. She realized that he coming and destroying all of these nations. I, you know, fool, I can see what God have on us.

And so I don't want to be a part of that. I rather serve the God who is victorious type of situation, you know, and so, you know, shout out to the widow from Sidon. Yeah, man. Like just imagine being in from a nation where everything around you is so corrupt that they ain't even trying to have the guys a following God and you still have to be the one standing up and standing up and being like, nope, nope.

Still have my faith. Yep. You know what I'm saying? I'll do my thing.

So it's like, so it's such against the green. Go for it. I love word prophets in the land. I'm telling you, uh, good much profit just in Israel.

And then you would have to think about it, right? The tribe Levi was supposed to be scattered all throughout the nations. And so when it split up in, it ain't like all of the Levi's, but it's just opera. We're going to do it because you ain't know what Jeb won't have to install for real.

You know what I'm saying? So that means they would have had Levi's who come from a long line of priests of the Mosai God who should still be in there. Well, we know Levi's was still around even in the mood estimate. Right?

We all started to get some art. Straight up. Straight up, bro. And so it's like, you could you could assume that the light was so dim.

Here in this time, but we can see pockets where the most random people have like, so we have these prophets who come around, you know what I mean? Like all the time it's not for us. So, you know, they have, they have options. They have options and they, you know, the choice is still yours.

You can serve the government and they are religion that they push it on you. You know, or you could go back to the Mosai God. That's a fact, my word. So now in verse 17, a first king's 17.

Now it's all happened after these things that the son of the woman who owned the house became sick. And this sickness was so serious that there was no breath left in him. He died. So she said to Elijah, what have I to do with you, O man of God?

Have you come to bring my sin to remembrance and to kill my son? Which is interesting too, because we have no knowledge of what she was dealing with. And again, no one's perfect, not even me in the cars. And we know everyone has their sinful baggage.

But she knows it's a matter of God. He's like, well, I'm like, I come here, help you. My son die. Like he just come to bring my past back in my face.

You're talking about what type of sick joke is this? You know what I'm saying? He's going to die regardless. It's like insult to injury.

You're a dog, bro. I got it done. We didn't have to. I went on a sofa.

Right. You give me over there. You're short, bro. You're short.

You take it back for me. And he said to her, give me your son. So he took him out of her arms and carried up to the upper room where she, where he was staying. And he laid him on his own bed.

Then he cried out to the Lord, said, oh, Lord, my God, you have brought this tragedy on this widow with all my, with all my lodge by killing her son. He said, Oh, Lord, my God, have you brought? Have you also brought this tragedy on the widow who my lodge by killing her son? And he stretched out himself out on the child three times and cried out to the Lord and said, Oh, Lord, my God, I pray.

Let this child's soul come back to him. Then the Lord heard the voice of Elijah and the soul of the child came back to him and he revived. And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house and gave him to his mother, like you said, see, your son lives. And then the woman said to Elijah, now by this, I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is the truth.

So that's the end of 1 Kings 17. And this last story really has a lot of implications and a lot of just names you can talk about. So now we see, I mean, just obvious. This is the first time in the Bible that we are reading that someone who was dead has come back to the land of the living, has come back to life.

And we see Elijah said, let his soul return to him. So now we see the separation of a body and a soul. His body was still physically dead, but his soul, when he died, his soul left his body. And I just pray specifically, let his soul return to him.

And he prayed to God earnestly and God by the grace of God, God allowed the child's soul to return back to the child's body and he lived again. Elijah didn't revive this child. Elijah prayed and the Holy Spirit, God, allowed the child to be revived. I just want to paint that make that picture clear because I mean, really starting to say, Elijah revived him.

Elijah prayed to God and God revived him. I just want to make sure we help you drill that down because I mean, even when we get in discussion, we're probably going to say, Elijah revived us like Elijah brought this guy back to life. But I don't want the emphasis to be lost or the point to be lost that we of our own power cannot do this. It's only by God that this was done.

I think that's a very important thing to drive home. He's even going to be like, oh, Elijah brought this guy, the widow's son back to life. And when you read in the context, no, God did it. Elijah was just a vessel by through which this miraculous miracle happened.

I don't know if he's the first to point the same miracle. That's the wrong thing. You guys need to say, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, kind of. You didn't need, you didn't need the miracle email.

Yeah, we get, we get the gist, you know. Yeah, man. So like what's your thoughts on the whole thing? Body, soul, coming back to life.

So, bro, my computer was more intelligent. I would already have my points up, ready? But I'd say this, right? It's like when God breathed into, like we were dust, right?

God breathed into man and he became a soul. It's not that you have a soul, but it's like dirt plus breath equals soul, like equals human being, right? And so if you take out the soul, I mean, it's basically, you didn't have the breath of life in you anymore. That's not what I'm saying.

And so right now, this body, just a body, you know what I'm saying? It's just a body with no life type situation. But when we see when God created Adam, it's like you breathe into this thing and it became a soul type of situation. And so it's not to be confused with the secular view of a soul.

And so like, biblically, if you read this, if you read the Bible, there's nothing, there's nothing that's going to tell you that when you die, that this ghostly version of you rises up, you know what I'm saying? So you're telling me the ghost doesn't rise up? I'm sorry, bro. I'm so sorry to tell you, bro.

Like it's like when you die, it's not going to say like this ghostly, block a better word, spirit of you. It's floating around, whether you're on or go straight up to heaven, stuff like that, you know what I'm saying? It's like, you know, in Ecclesiastes, obviously the dead know nothing, you know? That's the thing.

The soul is basically life, bro. It's like basically a synonymous way of saying this child's life, you know, give him back his soul. Give him back his life because when you have life plus body, you become a soul. And so now we know that there's only body right now, you feel me?

So it's like soul minus body equals life or whatever type of situation. And that's what he lacks in this very moment, you know? So giving him his soul is meaning, like giving me everything that's missing. So make this a living a living person, right?

You know, um, also I want to commend Elijah's faith, bro, and just never happened before, which is wild, right? But you, this is never happened before, but you take it upon yourself to cry over him three times, bro. I would have been so I wouldn't even have gone through that because of my mind. I like, bro, suppose after this, like what was he about to keep doing it?

That like, man, like, we know how he lies, your story ends, which is going to be very, very interesting, right? But again, this shows, this is like one example of Elijah's faith. You know what I'm saying? Like, man, to your point, I don't know if I can bring this guy about the life, but I do know God has the power to bring this guy about the life, even if it hasn't been done before.

There's nothing that God can't do. You know what I'm saying? And man, what have you done? Thankfully, we don't even know.

Yeah, but he had the faith, bro. He had the faith to know that, hey, the only way I could do this is if I cry out to God. And if God doesn't have my prayer, I may suggest not his will. You know what I'm saying?

But I'm going to try. He did it earnestly, too. And it wasn't even like he didn't, like he had the connection with God, where he had the faith that if it was God's will to happen, it definitely will happen. So what's this right?

It's 22 and then the Lord heard the voice of Elijah and the soul of the child came back to him and he revived, right? I just want to reiterate what I was saying because I didn't have to text at the time. But Genesis 2 verse 7 is during the creation. And the Lord God formed mine of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.

Right? So dirt does plus breath, right? And the man became a living soul. So from Genesis time, from the beginning of the Bible, when we introduced the soul, you become a soul.

It didn't say and he received the soul, but what he did receive was breath. Like, and that's why we die, we're going back to dust. You understand what I'm saying? Because we don't have to have breath no more.

So dust plus breath equals soul type of situation. So now the verbiage in hell, it could be a little tricky. It could be a little confusing. But it says in 1st Kings 17 verse 22, the text will be just reading.

Then the Lord, the voice of Elijah and the soul of the child came back to him. To me, this, if we are, basically, it's the difference between me and being a corpse. I mean, being a human, like a living being or whatever, right? So that's like Sam, bro, he was no longer a dead body.

But he was now a living body. So like the life came back into him, the humanity came back into him. His being is now back together. You feel me?

And so I, honestly, at this very moment, I ain't really prepared to have a debate on soul and all of this and not in the third, but just for the context of this chapter that I even mentioned, and like my understanding biblically of the whole soul thing, right? But truthfully, I don't see this as saying, bro. Oh, yeah, his soul laughing. I come back and told him, bro, because what we're talking about, bro, in the fall of humanity, God told, before the fall, God told Adam and Eve, bro, don't touch and eat up the fruit or you will die, right?
