Episode 136: Call Me Lightning
from Every Album Ever with Mike Mansour · host Every Album Ever with Mike & Alex
This week we're discussing every album by Call Me Lightning. From Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Call Me Lightning was a manic indie band (closer to noise rock) made up of core members Nathan Liley on guitar/vocals and Shane Hochstetler on drums. The band was short-lived and there isn't a whole lot of info on them, but they have a cult following and some insanely good tunes. If you're a fan of early 00s indie and noise rock in any way, these guys are a must. [Also, Faraquet was not from Wisconsin--they were from Washington DC and we just forgot to correct it.] Closing track: "Be the Lightning" from The Trouble We're In (2004) Spotify playlist on Call Me Lightning https://open.spotify.com/user/motherpuncherinc Patreon https://www.patreon.com/everyalbumever Merch https://pandermonkey.creator-spring.com/ Instagram: Mike @pandermonkey Alex @motherpuncher Tom Osman's stuff: Debut album on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Substack Instagram Twitter Facebook Mike's picks: The Trouble We're In (2004) — Best Album, Personal Favorite When I Am Gone My Blood Will Be Free (2010) — Worst Album, Least Favorite Alex's Picks: The Trouble We're In (2004) — Best Album, Personal Favorite Human Hell (2014) — Worst Album, Least Favorite Albums we discussed this episode… The Trouble We're In (2004) Soft Skeletons (2007) When I Am Gone My Blood Will Be Free (2010) Human Hell (2014)
