Episode #136: Onde Monarker Del 1: Europa #1 (Episode #136: Evil Monarchs Part 1: Europe #1)

from Generation X VS Z · host Sandhaug Productions

God lytting!-----------Today, Per and Henrik start a series of three episodes with evil monarchs as the topic. The journey begins with King Leopold II of Belgium (1835-1909) and will end with Queen Ranavalona I of Madagascar. King Leopold ll wanted Congo to become a Belgian colony. The reason for this was that Congo had large rubber plantations which was new when he was king in the 19th and 20th centuries From King Leopold ll the journey continues Attia The Hun (406-453). He was king of Hungary from 434 until his death in March 453. He even killed his own brother to gain power. It is unknown how many he killed, but he was also a good military strategist and Elisabeth Bàtory  (1560-1614). She was of Hungarian nobility and killied, skinned cooked and bathed in human skin, intestines and blood. She is known as one of the worst serial killers in history. The reason was she bathed in human blood was that she wanted to be young forever. From Hungary we travel to Romania and Vlad Tepes (1431-1476). He lost his father and brother at a young age, which drove him to kill, butcher, spear and torture people. From Romania we are going on to Turkey and Ibrahim l 1615-1640. He is known to have had an urge to kill prostitutes because of jealousy and because he suspected that his mother had extramarital affairs with them.
