Episode 136 - Power to Overcome

Welcome to Daily Growth Point, I’m Pastor John Bingham.If you grew up in Junior Church, you may remember singing the song, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” This simple song was taken from 1 John 4:4 and is a reminder that God is greater than all things, even temptation!In the book, “The Kneeling Christian,” the author wrote, “It is not too much to say that all real growth in the spiritual life—all victory over temptation, all confidence and peace in the presence of difficulties and dangers, all repose of spirit in times of great disappointment or loss, all habitual communion with God—depend upon the practice of secret prayer.”When we respond to temptation by leaning into the power of Christ, then we will see victory. When Jesus died for us on the cross, He broke the power that sin has over us, setting us free to respond to His power in us.
