Episode 137: Why is Alice Walker not on the reading list?

from Purple Psychology · host Dr Naoisé O'Reilly

I've seen so many lists of what I'm supposed to read to educate myself on Black lives. Why Is Alice Walker on so few? If I made my own list she would be top with Zora Neale Hurston, Lorraine Hansberry, and James Baldwin. And those are just my starting blocks. Why are we so afraid of authentic? What happens when we lose roles in society? The parameters and boxes we so love. Why are teens struggling so much in liberal societies? This is my next body of work and I'm just starting to talk out the ideas and form the thinking.
