The last week has treated me well vacation-wise, both the trip and the time away from my laptop. Now though, I’m ready to get back up and at ’em. To that end, I have a lot of content rattling around in my brain after a week away, so I do hope you’ll come back often as the week goes along. Today though, it’s time for a tradition. In case you’re new to these parts, I decided back in 2013 to stop dedicating my birthday show to a weaker film. After griping about films like GET HIM TO THE GREEK and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4 in early episodes, it became clear to me that the last weekend in May would forever be a dead zone in the film release calendar. Call me crazy, but this summer doesn’t seem much different. So, every June we pause the new release love to discuss an old favorite. This year, not only is the film selected very much a favorite…but the guest makes the proceedings feel that much more special. You see, it was her birthday just four days ago, and besides that, she happens to be the co-host of two podcasts I love tuning into. So while I look to add new goodies to my bookshelf and record cabinet, and close out the day with a stop at my nineteenth and twentieth baseball stadiums, do give a listen to our discussion of film, love, laughter, and The Great American Pastime.
