Episode 139: Why Leaders Need Rest & Play AND How We Actually Do It

from Living Wholehearted Podcast With Jeff and Terra · host Terra & Jeff Mattson - Living Wholehearted

Join Jeff and Terra for a conversation about why it’s so hard for leaders to rest and play. They address two common lies leaders believe: The first, “If I don’t do it, no one else will … do it, do it right, or do it well.” The second lie, “I am what I do” and playing and rest feels outside my sense of self or identity. Though it’s common for leaders to regularly fire on all cylinders, to live in a constant state of busyness, the Mattsons are calling wholehearted leaders to LEARN how to rest and play. This is crucial not only for their own ability to lead well and finish the race set before them, but also so they can model healthy rhythms to those they lead. You’ll hear practical tips as well as a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Mattson’s personal journey around enjoying rest and play. In light of practicing rhythms of rest and play, the Mattsons are taking the rest of July off from recording podcasts. There will be a short break and the next episode will air the first week in August. Take the time to visit our library of 138 podcast episodes already recorded. We are excited about what is ahead and we look forward to bringing you more incredible interviews and insights to help YOU be the leader you would follow.   Jeff Mattson (MA ORGL) and Terra Mattson (MA LPC, LMFT) are the husband and wife team who co-founded Living Wholehearted and Courageous Girls.
