S’il y a bien une chose que j’ai appris lors de mon expérience en tant qu’infirmière, c’est de m’affirmer. M’affirmer pour mes patients et leurs besoin. Ce fut ma première expérience fasse à l’autorité médicale. A l’époque j’étais timide et introvertie. J’avais peur de déranger. Mais la santé de mes patients est devenue plus importante que ma peur. Pour cette raison je me suis “battue” pour faire entendre leur voix quand cela était nécessaire. Ce fut une toute autre histoire quand j’ai du apprendre à m’affirmer et affirmer mes propres envies et besoin. Tu comprends pour devenir infirmière, j’ai nié mes propres besoin, je devenais la personne que je pensais que les autres avaient besoin d’avoir. Je laissais certaines personnes me malmenaient et je me disais que ce n’était pas grave. Après tout, on m’avait enseigné qu’il valait mieux la paix que la guerre. Sauf que je suis arrivée à bout, épuisée, et complètement perdue à me demander qui j’étais. Et, mon premier acte d’affirmation pour moi, ce fut de démissionner. Je peux le dire, c’était vraiment jouissif de me dire que je quittais mon enfer personnel. Toutefois, ne croyez pas que j’étais guérie. Loin de là, il m’a fallu du temps pour me reconstruire.
